Mrs. Nellie V. Engle, 72 of Locust Grove, died Friday afternoon in a Batesville Hospital. Born at Poplar Bluff, she attended the Baptist church.
Survivors include her husband, Lee R. Engle of home; three sons, Roy Brooks of McCroy, Troy Brooks of Gatesille, Tenn., and Theodore Brooks of Locust Grove; four daughters. Mrs. Leona Davidson of Doniphan, Mo, Mrs. Bernice Savage of Odin, Ill., Mrs. Madie Engle of Newport and Mrs. Ann Engle of Locust Grove; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services were at 2 p.m. at the Concord Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Whitener officiating. Burial was in Locust Grove Cemetery by Crouch Funeral Home.
Pallbears were grandsons- Roy Wingo, Donnie Bice, Larry Brooks, Mike Engle, Bob Savage and James Pridmore.

Mildred Berneice Savage
Salem---- Mildred Berneice Savage, 69, of Salem, died at 1;25 p.m. Sunday, Jan.2,1994, at Salem Township Hospital.
Mrs. Savage was born July 1,1924, in Egyt, Ark, daughter of Theodore and Nellie
(Hoffman) Brooks. She married William Savage in California Jan. 9,1943, and he preceeded her in death.
Surviving are a daughter, Bonita Vaughn of Salem, two brothers, Troy Brooks and Junior Brooks, both of Arkansas; two sisters, Roxie Munoz and madie Brooks, both of Arkansas; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Savage was a housewife and member of the First Baptist Church. Marvin Schelgler will officiate at graveside Funeral services at East Lawn cemetery in Salem at 2 p.m. Thursday.
There will be a private visitation. Rogers-Atkins Funeral Home in Salem is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association and will be received at the funeral home.

William Savage
Odin-----William V. Savage, 59, of Odin, died at his home yesterday. Mr. Savage was born in Hamburg, Ark., the son of Lonnie and Edna (Pollock) Savage, and on Jan.9,1943, he married Berneice Brooks, who survuves.
He was a veteran of World War II and was employed as a shipping clerk for Palazzola Produce in Centralia.
Survivors in addition to his widow are a son, Robert Savage of Odin; a daughter, Mrs. Bonita j. Vaughn of Centralia; three sisters, Mrs. Tiny Bell Hayes, Mrs. Jo Mae Cross and Mrs. Lila Ruth Hanson, all of Arkansas; a brother Lonnie E. Savage of Arkansas; and five grandchildren.
Funeral Arrangements are incomplete; friends may inquire at the Wilson Funeral Home in Odin.

Mr. Madie Engles, 72 , of Sulpher Rock died Friday, July 14,2000 at her home. She was a restaurant manager and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Moorefield. Mrs. Engles was a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by three sons, William Boyce Engles, Jerry Lee Engles and Billy Don Engles; one brother, Roy Brooks; and two sisters, Leona Davidson, and Bernice Savage. Mrs. Engles is survived by four sons, Kevin Engles of Batesville, Troy Engles, of Little Rock, Michael Engles of Diaz, and Tracy Engles of Cave City; six daughters, Sue Burton of Batesville, Darlene Pridmore of Newport, Treacie Coles of Batesville, Penny Lancaster of Des Arc, Helen Marlin ofCave City, Tammy Coles of Batesville; two brothers, Troy Brooks of Pleasant Plains, Junior Brooks of Newport; twenty three grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Moorefield First United Methodist Church with Rev. Mary Catherine McSpadden and Rev. Donald Byerly officiating, Visitation will be Monday, 6:00-9:00 Interment will be in the Kyler Cemetery at Southside. Arrangements by Jackson's Newark Funeral Home.
Mrs. Anna Haney,of Centralia, Ill., Dies, April 6, 1965
Mrs. Anna Haney, 77 of 1300 North Maple St. died yesterday at St. Mary's Hospital after an illiness of three weeks. She was born at Seymore, Ind. The daughter of Willis & Emma Campbell, Brooks. She married Ace Haney in 1906 at Centralia and he did in 1941. Mrs. Haney was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors are eight daughters, Mrs. Minnie Hamilton of Walnut Hill, Mrs. Cora Rhynes, Mrs. Laura Mayes, Miss Ona Haney and Mrs. Esther Bland, all of Centralia. Mrs. Almedia Cook of Joliet, Mrs. Hazel Shepard of Downey, California. Two brothers, Harrison and Theodore Brooks, both of Marked Tree, Ark. 29 grandchildren and 71 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Queen Boggs Chapel. Rev. Cecil Martin officiating. Burial will be in Gilead Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeralhome after 6 p.m. Thursday.
